Southeast U.S.

My goal is the book, but the travel nibbles at me like a swarm of mosquitoes. You can shoo it off, but eventually one or two get to you. And now I am back on the road, albeit for a short time, but I am back. The juices are back. Planning where I am going, what days, where I am staying, who I am seeing.

I just booked a speaking gig down in Little Rock, AR. I am excited to get back to my college town. That talk is on October 10.

That talk allows me to do some things I didn’t think I was going to be able to do. I am heading to a wedding in Myrtle Beach. I thought I had a talk at a college in town there, but that isn’t happening. So I didn’t think I could go. Here I come.

From there it is off to Charlotte. I can never be there enough. All of the people I had to leave in order to do this are there. My time will be short, but I’ll pack in a lot.

I have a radio show in Atlanta on the October 4th, but I thought I’d have to it remotely. I’ll be live.

My brother and family just moved into a new house. My parents will be there this coming weekend. I wasn’t able to go. I’ll be there the next weekend.

And then it is off to Little Rock for the talk. It will be a lot of fun and the company will get some good results from it. Again, it’s about motivation.

That’s what all of this is about. I’ll call it different things: purpose, passion, excitement, engagement. But the most general term would be motivation. That is what we all want, something we can be motivated by or for or about. Life is so much easier when we care.

And that is that. I am back on the road next week. I’ve hit one of my goals, albeit a small one. I’m getting paid to travel. It doesn’t get more motivating than that…

The schedule: Rochester to Baltimore to Wilmington, NC to Myrtle Beach to Charlotte to Atlanta to Memphis to Little Rock to Cincinatti and back to Rochester
