My trip has turned out to be an experience that has changed me forever. I’ve learned so much from the people I’ve met, stayed with, and interviewed. I’ve learned a lot about myself since I’ve been On the Road.

I want to share this knowledge and advice with others. I have done that via these online journals and am attempting to do so via the book I am working on. But, in the meantime, it has come about that I will be speaking with some college students about jobs and careers. I will be telling them my story, but more so, I will be sharing all of the advice I’ve been given by my interview subjects.

This is exciting and scary at the same time. I have a chance to reach young people and tell them that life is too short to work at a job you are not passionate about. I am fired up to talk to college students because they have not yet hit the responsibility stage of life. When I say responsibilities, I mean most students don’t have a spouse, children, a mortgage, etc… When you have those responsibilities, you may not be able change to a new job or career. You need to provide. If I can reach young people before responsibilities set in, maybe they will think about finding a career based on their passions and inspirations.

Life is easier if you are excited about your work.

My next speaking event is at my sister’s alma mater, Geneseo. It is next Wednesday. I have some good stories and good words of wisdom to pass on. The speaking aspect of my journey will continue.

P.S. I am still in limbo with the job offer.

Oh yeah, Happy Valentine’s Day.
