Little Rock, AR

I said I was going to take it easy last night. I was going to do a lot of things. We ended up having too good of a time over here. Last night was one of the few times I’ve been in awe of talent. Maybe it was the beer, but when Thomas strummed that guitar, I could just tell he was blessed with a great talent. I was tapping and dancing (scary thought) as he played. I’ve been to tons of concerts, but to have this going in 4 feet in front of you in a kitchen, it was incredible. I hope I didn’t embarrass him by the praise I was voicing to him, but he is incredible.

My night ended with King and I playing basketball as a team on the Play Station. We were playing against our alma mater, UALR, and we were winning. The game went on but I ended up dozing off, leaving King to play 4 on 5. He said we still won.

I woke up today with a desire to do nothing. I did a pretty good job of it. We watched John Q on TV and then Jonathan and Leesha came over. They are friends from college. I guess I should restate that they are some of my best friends from college. They were married a couple of years ago. They are a couple that is meant to be together. They complement each other so well. King and I are heading over to Dr. Jonathan’s graduation in a few minutes. He graduated from Optometry school yesterday. Big props to that.

They just finished a stint in Fayetteville, AR. It sounded like they loved it up there and I could see them settling down there. But for now it’s off to Albuquerque, NM for post-graduate work. I think they are there for a year. Jonathan was my first roommate and a fraternity brother. He has done a lot of traveling and we always have talks about stuff that is hard to answer. Leesha is a great writer and I respect her opinion on a lot of things. I will be floating (Canoeing) the Buffalo River next weekend with them and their family. I can’t wait for that.

I just got out of the shower (I showered at about 1:00 too). King, Zoe (the sweetest dog you can meet), and I went and climbed Pinnacle Mountain. This is not a mountain where you hang off the cliff and pull yourself up, but it does give a workout. We got a great sweat and cardio making the climb. And the pictures I got are incredible. I’ll try to upload one into this. Mother Nature cannot be beat.

Pinnacle Mountain was on my to do list. No longer. So now it’s waiting for King to shower and then off to the party.
