Another weekend comes to pass and the signs point to the summer’s end. It’s already dark out, Lake Ontario is ice cold, and preseason football highlights are on ESPN. I love football, but the looming season shows the seasons are going to change. In Charlotte, this is the best time of year. In Rochester, the fall doesn’t last too long. Soon, the white stuff will be falling.

With the impending football season, I went to a fantasy football draft on Friday night. The Peasano’s Football League needed a draft helper and I obliged. It helped them putting the stickers on the draft board, allowing all of the owners to focus on their teams. It helped me get prepared for my draft this week. Some good pics were made as were some head scratchers. It made me miss my ECU league I was in Charlotte. This year I’m in with some of my cousin’s friends Corning.

The rest of Friday was catching up with my Harvard posse and a birthday. Uncle Plum did their usual thing at Alexander Street. My cousin Kyle’s birthday was Friday and a lasagna meal stuffed me. Yet, I wasn’t too full to buy him a drink when I saw him and his friends out.

Saturday was a great day at the race track. For some reason, being at the draft got my gambling juices flowing. I woke up with the itch. The track is much easier to temper the losses than a casino, so off I went. Pooling with my friend, we only lost $10 for the day and actually cashed in a trifecta. The night was spent at home, eating leftover Thai food, watching football, and playing poker.

Today was a grey, humid day. A perfect lazy day. My sister’s cat is here while they are in the Bahamas on their honeymoon. Conway darted all over the place as I tried to nap. I didn’t hear for him too long. I watched Tiger win again and it still is not boring. What a machine he is. And I also tinkered on my book today. That is back in my blood. Time to get this thing to print one way or another.

That’s about it. Can’t believe it’s almost September. Can’t control the calendar, so we roll with it.
