9:40 PM

It’s Sunday night and I sit in the recliner typing and flipping the channels. There is a Housewives rerun. The girls look good, but no. There are some reality BS shows on, No. ESPN has St. Louis and San Francisco baseball. This was OK as I needed some filler while I did some database entry, now, no. PBS has some English soap or drama, no. Fox has the Family Guy, that will work. Wait, it’s a repeat.

Anyway, I sit here with my first major sunburn of the summer. I had some block on my shoulders and nose, but my chest got it. I got back here after lunch with the lady friend at Don Pablo’s. A little Mexican fix goes a long way. Siesta started at about 2:30 with chair in the sun, hat and shades on, and reading of Time magazine. I read about Abe Lincoln. We both ended up napping in the sun. She is burned more than me. I moved napping spots from the chair to on my belly on a towel.

We took out the jet ski a little bit and did some swimming. From there it was time for dinner, a good summer meal of grilled chicken, salad, baked beans, and a veggie salad. We sipped on a couple of beers and ate outside on the patio with my folks.

The party day yesterday was great. The reunion had a bigger turnout that expected, 57 people was one count. It was at a state park on top of a hill that overlooked a golf course. There was a ton of picnic food. I played some horseshoes with some family members I had met last year. I stunk it up but the game was called because it was picture time. It is hard to get 57 people to get together and stand still, but we did it.

My dad and I made the drive back, I washed up and headed to party number 2. Siesto’s was a lot of people from their wedding and a few others I hadn’t met before. There was one guy I had seen at McGinity’s on Friday night and talked politics with. The birthday girl did a lot of house tours. It was a perfect day. They had a keg and some guys made a rum punch that was pretty tasty. There was some great pulled pork, some marinated chicken, and some chips and dip.

I didn’t stay too long because I was whipped and had to get to the ladies house.

Someone just crushed one into McCovey Cove. 4-1 St. Louis.

Time to rinse Lake Ontario off and get ready to wind down. Some cake or pie awaits. Or maybe some ice cream. Then it is the end of Raising Arizona. I hadn’t seen it in years and we didn’t finish it last night. Then get ready for Monday.
