Gettysburg, PA

7:35 PM

As a driver, you can’t ask for much better than today. The sun stared at me the whole way and the leaves that were left on the trees glimmered in yellow and orange. I did not need heat or AC, and the sun roof was cracked for some of the way. After paying for gas in NY and my post-Katrina trip, I was amazed to see gas at $2.19 in Pennsylvania. It looked foreign to me, but I gladly anted up. The sun and the sights were made much better by the sunglasses my friend King gave me for my birthday. I cannot explain how the glasses do it, but the colors just leap out at you. I have never had such a huge difference from glasses. I found myself on a few occasions taking my eye off of the road and looking out my sunglasses and then over them or to the side for comparison. Everything was so much clearer and the colors vibrant. I tried to take a picture but it didn’t do it justice. It must be some sort of UV filter. I don’t know and I don’t care, as long as they keep doing their thing.

I am typing in a familiar place, one that is even called my room. I’m in Gettysburg, PA at my dad’s cousins house. Arden and Patty hosted me on my first journey. Like before, we ate like champs. Tonight was chicken stuffed with mozzarella cheese and covered in a peppery spice. We also had yellow rice, broccoli, carrots, fresh apple salad, and rolls. Tasty and full.

I am trying to get my computer work in now so I can focus on Monday Night Football game. The Colts should win, but it’s been a long time. I predict a lopsided victory against a beat up Patriots. But, champions are champions for a reason. That’s why we’ll watch.

I’ll be up and out early in the morning as I head to Raleigh, NC. I’ll be staying with some familiar hosts, Bob and Morgan and DL. Hopefully the day is as nice.
