After driving my Hyundai for so long, I got the opportunity to get low to the ground today as I drove Donna’s Acura TL to and from my talk. Paradise Valley CC is about 50 minutes from the house. Armed with my shades, CD’s, and sandals, I hit I-10 east and then chugged north on the 101 loop. I passed the Arizona Cardinal’s new stadium and anticipated seeing it up close on Sunday.

I put my work shoes and socks on. The school was open and spread out. Sunlight poured into the courtyards and no matter how many times I come to campuses, I get caught up in the intellectual and learning energies that permeate. Young people with books passed by me as I found the student center and my room. After some technology blips, I am a PC guy and they are Mac, my presentation began. We had a good group mixed up of both faculty and students. I didn’t realize that this afternoon was the day before a day off for Veteran’s Day. This always makes people antsy, but the group stayed focused.

I made some changes to the PPT that I think helped. It is awesome to be able to relive the journey each time I give a talk. To think I used to hate my speech communication class.

I hit some big city traffic on the way home, but the sunshine and G Love kept my patience. We just finished some turkey burgers and now it is time for some football. Tomorrow is golf at a Jack Nicklaus course. I’ve been to it before, but only to get a scorecard. It should be pristine, other than the golf.
