When you get the chance to do what you enjoy, it’s a good feeling. I enjoy sports and eating. I excelled at that all day Sunday. I stopped at the store and picked up a couple of bottles of wine for the hosts. Ryan’s parents welcomed me into their house as if it were my own. The spread was magnificent. There was chicken wing dip, cheese and crackers, bread bowl dip, some beers, and of course the NFL. Ryan and his dad are Dolphin fans. I think his mom is a Bills fan. That game is a big rivalry up here. We snacked, and then the steamed clams were ready. There were tons of them and I did my part in depleting the supply. By that time the 1:00 games were ending. “The turkey’s in,” news was spread. At about the 1st quarter of the Cowboys game we chowed on a deep-fried turkey, green bean casserole, salad, some potato wedges, and pasta. I again did my part. After sighing and moaning for a while, we started in on the chocolate pie, the snickers pie, and cherry squares. I lounged in the chair and watched the Cowboys give the game away. My heavy eyes said it was time for me to leave. I felt like it was an early Thanksgiving. I ate like it was, except I didn’t nap. I came home and was forced to finish the day with baseball and the late NFL game. I was saddened by Daunte Culpepper throwing for 400 plus yards and 5 TD’s. I was playing against him in fantasy football. The games ended and so did I. It was time to sleep off all of the food. It was a day that my heaven has waiting for me.
