11:03 AM

Happy Easter. I am still full from all of the spiral ham I wolfed down yesterday. Saturday was a marathon. I am in my friend Rob’s wedding in early May. We did his bachelor party on Saturday and it was a doozie. Golf was at noon, which I took second place. I had a chance to win, but a few errors cost me down the stretch. The Bird Man took the title. From there it was off to a great dinner at the Dinosaur BBQ. The nine of us then went to a local pub for a marathon of pool, darts, and drinks. It was fun to have his dad and brother along with us. At about 11:30 my mind began to wander, not because I was bored, I was far from it, but because my phone didn’t ring. It was not that I was waiting and hoping for a girl to call, I was waiting on two of our friends to call to meet up with us. They never called and my mind went back to Charlotte and to my old roommate.

Two weeks prior, Mike, had his bachelor party in NC. Because of my book focus, finances didn’t allow me to go. I realize my circumstances are slightly different, but when our friends didn’t even bother to call or show up on Saturday night for the BP, I questioned what type of friends they were. This then caused me to question what type of friend I was to Mike. I can’t go to his wedding because it is out of the country and I can’t even go to his bachelor party. This is one of my best friends on the planet and I miss out on all of it. He and V say they understand, but it stinks. Again, that is the sacrifice that I’ve chosen to make. As great as all of this has become, it still is not easy all of the time.

After the bar game battles we went to a different kind of ballet and I dropped off the groom to be and best man at about 2:45 AM. 15 hours of fun. Everyone had a blast and I woke up in time to go to church.

No word on the book proposal yet. The waiting is the hardest part.
