Week 1 is in the books. I am not sure how I do it, or how many so of us do it, but a max weekend of football has come to an end. College Saturday came and went with South Carolina almost pulling the upset at Georgia. That would have been sweet.

Today was spent getting the Canadian back to the ferry. I bet it was interesting for him to see the hoopla that goes into the opening weekend of NFL. “So you’re dad watches it too? And your sister?” I did the Bills game at home and then went up to the mall bar (NFL Ticket) to watch my beloved Cowboys start the Bledsoe and 3-4 era. They traveled to San Diego and won a very back and forth game, 24-21. For a guy that scares me every time he passes, Bledsoe had an awesome game. It was fun to watch it with a fellow Cowboy die hard. If they keep the season interesting, I’ll be spending a lot of Sunday’s with Chris.

I was also armed with all of my paperwork. In this case, that is my fantasy football teams, my weekly picks, and my weighted guesses. I am into it. It wasn’t a bad week. I won both fantasy games and went 10-6 in my picks. The NFL was crazy so the games I thought I’d win I did not. And all of this energy with no money on the line, it’s great.

My sister is probably happy as it looks like the Colts are going to win. Baltimore’s offense is horrible once again. My SC alum, Anthony Wright may be the starter for a while there.

I didn’t say anything about the Canadian. He hurt my liver this weekend. I got a call on Friday morning asking what I had planned for the weekend. Nothing major was on the books so he hopped on the Saturday ferry from Toronto to Rochester. I hadn’t seen him since I went up to TO in May. You have to love spur of the moment.

I had a family reunion down on the NY/Pennsylvania border, so he occupied himself until I got back, which was around 7. From there he was amazed to know Labbatt Blue Light was such a popular choice in NY.

I knew he was coming so I rounded up a large group of people to head out. We met at the Korner and throughout the night I bet he met 20 or so people. I am too tired to write about the places and the drinks, but we ended up crashing at my sisters and were up until 4 talking about who knows what. I think he got a kick out of the scene and the people. I know my friends enjoyed meeting him. I bet he’ll be back.

Bed.

Geez, how crappy. I didn’t even say anything about 9/11. Remember it. Sadly, time desensitizes us.
