Well, I learned a lesson about hang gliding. Mother Nature dictates what you do and when you do it. When I arrived at the flight park at around 4:15 PM, the air flags were whipping about. Inside the hanger, I met who I was told is the Michael Jordan of flying personal aircraft. He had his hands and face in the middle of the trike motor I had gone up in the first time. He was in town from Florida for the week helping fine tune things. Long story short, it was too windy to fly yesterday. I was bummed, but it was OK because I got to hang out and learn all about flying, FAA regulations, weight shift, and the World Championships coming up in a few weeks in Florida.

A young couple had made the drive over from Buffalo but like me, they couldn’t go up because of the wind. Everyone was apologetic to us, but my philosophy is if they say it’s too windy, then it’s too windy. It’s not worth the risk. We left the park, went to the house for a killer BBQ rib dinner, and then met about the managers meeting from the previous week. I hope I get another chance to touch the sky.

At 2:45 PM, I am back home after going to a CEO roundtable meeting from 8 AM to noon. The keynote speaker was Brad VanAuken, one of the people I interviewed for the upcoming book. He is a wealth of knowledge on branding and life and it was good to reconnect with him and my coach. Back to it.
