Other than me pecking away at these keys, the house is asleep, that includes the cat and dog. This morning was bacon and pancakes and play time. I played blocks, a musical thing, and some Cinderella stuff. The adults watched a classic movie, the Big Lebowski. I love The Dude, man. This set the stage for a stop at the bowling alley.

I shaved, showered, ate some incredible chicken and dumplings, and we were off. My bowling prowess has never been great. Well, I take that back. I won an event in one of the early grades, but once people started to grow bigger and stronger than I was, I never caught up. My current bowling style would be described as mechanical. My ball does the opposite of what it should, it goes straight. Straighter than a line that I can draw. In bowling, that doesn’t bring you many strikes. The curl is better.

I had a 130 in the first game today, with 5 spares, but no strikes. The Doc had a 160. With images of The Dude and Walter in my head, I decided it was time to try something new. It was time to try the hook. I moved my start to the left, cocked my wrist, stepped, and swung my leg out, accentuating the left to right spin. And it worked. It took me a while to figure out where to start and where it would go, but I had another 130, but this time with 3 strikes. I can say I have the hook on my bowling tool belt now.

A major event happened during the bowling. Not for us here, but for another former college roommate in Asheville, NC. King welcomed twin girls to the world at 2:43. Awesome.

After the lanes it was time for Thai food in the heart of the college district. It would be cool to be here in nicer weather as there is the typical row after of row of food and drink spots. My yellow curry was tasty. Now it is emails, going over my PPT for Tuesday, and bed. Another early morning, another three hours, and another day on the road.
