Rochester, NY

Another 8 hours in the car wore me out. I drove from Cincy to Rochester today. I had some drizzle in the AM, but after that it was smooth sailing. The skies were pretty cloudy. I jammed to a lot of O.A.R. They are great for driving or really anytime. Some Shins, Beatles, Lenny Kravitz, and Black Crowe’s made the time pass.

I pulled into the cottage at 4:15. It was perfect here. 72 degrees, blue sky, slight breeze and quiet. I unpacked a little and made it out to the beach. I hit a lawn chair and chilled until my Dad got home. I wasn’t able to sleep, but I laid back and listened to the small waves lap on the beach. What is also nice about our place is that there are trees around. One, this is good for shade. But for today it was great because of the birds. They sang to me and the waves percussioned in and I laid there, eyes shut and reflected on all of the places I’ve been and people I’d met over the past 2 ½ months. I don’t have the energy to go into too much detail. That is what the writing for the book is all about. That is progressing. I have a lot of information and details to get out.

So here I am, sitting in the kitchen. A tall glass of water to my right, my mom just said goodnight, and my dad is on a train to Chicago for a business meetings tomorrow. We took him to the train station tonight. I’m not sure if I’ve ever been to one, but know I have. I guess I will need to take a train here at some point. Not anytime soon though. My mom is driving me to Buffalo tomorrow. I catch an 11 AM flight to Philly and then off to Vegas. I get in there at 3:10 their time. I already have bets on the U.S. Open. I can’t say who yet because of my picks. Deadline is tomorrow or maybe tonight. Not sure, but no secrets yet.

Short and sweet. Bed time. Long day today and another one tomorrow. I won’t be so tired tomorrow night.
