I was supposed to be in jail today. Yep, I was supposed to be there at 4:30. But, I’m still at my house. I’m a bit under the weather. I wasn’t going to jail because of anything I did, I was going there to be part of the team my parents are on that is sharing the weekend with some of the inmates praying and sharing. Me and some others were going to go in at 4:30 and out at 8:30. I went last year at about this time and it was a very moving experience.

I’ve been sick and was not feeling up to anything at all today. Last night I went to a 30th bday party and ended up staying up later than I planned. I am not sure if I was run down or this sickness is getting me. My mom was just diagnosed with bronchitis. I don’t want that. Lynne had the big three-oh last night. She’ll be mad I wrote that in here. It was fun to see everyone over there. She was very surprised. She and her husband Dan had gone out to dinner and we all went over to her mom’s house. We had pizza and wings and a drink or two. Beth, Alicia, Carlos, Mickey, Heather and I went down to the East End Festival, but it was over by the time we got there. I wasn’t feeling that hot, but I did OK.

So anyway, I didn’t go to jail today. I remember back to last year as I sat in the parking lot staring at the prison, getting ready to go in. I was nervous but it was such a moving experience once I was in. The power of faith and feeling is so powerful when a group of people get together.

Instead of being in jail I vacuumed my car, traded out the winter floor mat for the regular one, windexed the windshield and bought and installed some Rain-X. I leave on Monday night or Tuesday for Asheville and my first magazine photo shoot. I also have an interview set up with a girl that has made dresses her whole life. I think she supplies some places in NYC. It will be cool to learn about that.

So now I try to get healthy for my next trip. I can’t wait for that. Being on the road is the best birthday present I can ask for.
