The weekend has flown by. The sun has been out the whole time, with higher than average wind. Temps have been in the 70’s, which made for a perfect day at the ballpark. This was my first Spring Training experience and we went to Peoria for the Mariners – Padres game. We had lawn seats. The game was a 1:05 start and we got there during the second. Spreading out our blankets and unwrapping our sandwiches, we had Jacob’s first picnic.

I knew Ichiro and a few of the other players, but we didn’t pay 100% attention to the game. We mainly sat amongst the other families and soaked up the sun. Kids ran all over the place. The game went by fast because there was only 8 hits combined. It was a 1-0 win for the Padres.

The most exciting part of the game did not take place on the field. It occurred when a woman with a microphone tapped Anthony, Donna, and Jacob on the shoulder and asked if she could interview them. She was from Fox Sports in Seattle and was doing a piece on parents bringing their kids to the ballpark. The theme was how the mother prepared everything for the family and the dad just went along. I saw behind the scenes and it was more of a team effort in this family, but they went along with the story.

While I shot a bunch of pictures, Donna explained all of the things she had prepared for the day such as blankets, clothes, food, bottles, etc… Then they asked Anthony what he did, “I carried him from the car.” We’re not sure if and when the piece will run, but that was cool.

From there we headed home and got ready for a night at the O’Buckley’s. They are friends from when I used to live here. They were having some folks over to play a game I had not heard of or played before, Bunko. It turned out to be a dice game that caused you to switch tables and partners. It caused you to meet new people and that was cool. We had a few cocktails before the little guy said it was time for bed. He didn’t say it quietly. We left before the full four rounds, and I ended up being the biggest loser. I was 3-9, but that made me $5. As soon as we got to the car, Jacob passed out.

And today was low key for sure. Donna and I took our walk (we’ve done that each day) and then went through a core work out. She is a masseuse, personal trainer, and nutritionist. After I hit the showers, I settled in front of the TV for a nap and the NC-Duke game. I was glad to see the outcome turn in NC’s favor. I was also glad to see Duke’s image take a hit with the bloody nose cheap shot. Say what you want, but Henderson wanted to send a message. He did.

After the game it was time to lose my massage virginity. I should say I’ve had a few, but they were ones where I sat on the couch and the girl rubbed my shoulders. They never lasted too long. This one was all out. Donna had the table, the oils, and the music. 50 minutes of paradise. The twisting, the pushing, and the stretching felt incredible. I was a drooling mess. I was putty. I can see why people love these things. How peaceful and relaxing.

Only a couple more days of paradise. I spoke with my parents about the weather. Ouch. I will go from 85 degrees to 10. C’mon northeast, bring on the spring. More walks in my future. And some golf.
