Charlotte, NC

I sit at my cousins in Charlotte. Baby Jaime is at my feet, walking around playing with a tupperware thing. There was a full house last night, my cuz, his wife, Jaime, his father in law, and his parents. And me. There was a chance that I was going to get to go to Monday Night Football, but tix were impossible to get. There were a few people working on it, but no dice. I came over here, had a good stir fry dinner, and then went to BBG to watch the game. The Panthers looked pretty good, but their D is weaker than expected.

I crashed on the couch in the computer room and her dad was on the couch in the living room. I slept pretty good.

Yesterday was a busy one. I got up and did some writing and then had to go to a friends for a shower. From there I headed to Davidson where I met with them about potentially coming to speak there. I guess I had never been to that campus while living here. It is amazing. The buildings and the fields and the energy were incredible. He said 1/4 of the students were on Division 1 teams. It made me wish I had gone to a school like that, a small, away from town campus. I still wouldn’t trade my UALR friends for anything.

I went from Davidson back toward town to UNCC. I got some great information there and may come back to talk to the students. That campus is very similar to my undergrad environment. We’ll see about going to both. I love the feeling on a campus.

Now it is time to pack the car and head to Atlanta. It’s about a 4 hour drive. The gas tank is full (2.99) and once I hit the shower, I’ll be ready. I need to get over there before traffic gets bad. And when Atlanta traffic is bad, it is real bad. I’ll be doing a radio show tonight. This is my first one and it’s not a little 3 minute blurb. I think I’ll be on for the whole hour.

It was great to be back in Charlotte. I saw a lot of my friends, but it was too short. This trip is very rushed, from one place to the next. 3,000 miles in 14 days will do it. Back to it.
