Charlotte, NC

7:22 AM

Man, it’s been a whirlwind. Charleston was great, but I always leave there with a cloudy brain. My cuz and I got a lot of work done. He’s helping me make a video that a speaking agent wants to see. That could lead to more talks.

I left CHAS on Friday for the Reed household. They are in Ridgeway, SC and live right on Lake Wateree. We all went to high school together and were in Charlotte at the same time. Their business has taken off and allowed them to move into a huge house on the water. We did a little fishing but mainly caught up and played with their son, Jake. The Snake is a great kid. We were power rangers and set up a force field to keep out the bad guys.

There was a chance I was going to get tickets for the South Carolina – Florida game. That didn’t work out, so on a 75 degree and sunny day, I was holed up inside by myself from 12:30 to 3:30 as the Cocks finally beat Florida. It has been over 60 years since that happened. I was bummed not to be there, but I was in the same state and that was good enough.

From there it was off to Charlotte to get ready for my talk and see my friends and family. I’ve been running all over the place. I’ve stayed with my old roommates and my cousin. Time to head to the golf course.
