Jacksonville, FL

I am sitting in my Dad’s cousin’s place in Jacksonville. I met Glenn and Ginny for the first time today. I arrived at noon and waiting was one fatty of a meal. I was starving and salivated as I entered.

Food would wait as I met members of my family. We talked for a while, walked out back, and fed the fish. We were to eat at 1:00. Their son Dennis and his family came over. More family. I met Denise, his wife, Rebecca, 5th grade and Jonathan, 3rd grade.

I haven’t cooked a whole lot lately, so this meal was a treat and then some.

Meal: london broil on the grill. Mashed potatoes, gravy, home made apple sauce, asparagus, creamed corn, and cabbage salad. I ate and ate. Immediately following came white chocolate pudding and/or strawberry shortcake. I didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, so I ate both. Man, I leaned back and smiled. That was great.

After lunch we talked, watched some baseball, napped and then got ready for church. My new family is very devoted to the lord and I went with them to their church. It was intense, in a good way. They had a choir of about 50, a brass band, and Rebecca sang in the youth choir before mass.

From there, I was hanging at Wendy’s. Glenn, Ginny and I met their crew of 2 other couples for Wendy’s after church. More food. I have a good picture of that.

Today was a lot of fun. I met new people. I met new family. And, I ate like a pig.

Time to sleep.
