The three hour drive to Fayetteville was uneventful. Previously, I had come here for a few parties and football games and the Pig Trail of hairpin turns thru the mountains has been replaced with a smoother 540. The G6 handled beautifully and I arrived at my old roommate, Dr. Shaver’s eye clinic, at around 1. He showed me around the place and I met most of his staff. It was cool to see him making it happen. He gave me an eye exam which said I still have crap vision, but that everything else seems to be OK. He also gave me some different contacts to try.

He closed at 2 and we headed to his house. He and his wife, who I knew in college, have been here for over a year. I couldn’t wait to meet their daughter for the first time. She is a few months over 2 years and as cute as they come. Flowing curly blonde hair and a constant smile on her face. “Wanna play?” is what she liked to continually ask.

I’d like to write more, but I am shot. We went out to dinner at a local place, AQ Chicken. Very good. From there, it was more cards. I won the tourney a few minutes ago. It’s awesome to be here. Time for bed. Kids mean early alarm clock.
