March Madness

1:15 AM

For weeks the dividing line has been slowly drawn. The regular season ends. The conference tournaments end. And now it is time. Wives roll their eyes at the giddiness their husbands display at their brackets and March Madness. Other wives relish the fact that their bracket is better than their husband. Bars fill with cheers and ohhs as teams get bounced and huge shots are hit. I love this time of year. My Carolina Blue is ready.

Tomorrow morning is like Christmas, but different. You wake up knowing you have a full day of presents, you just don’t know what you’re getting. It could be a 3 week run to a title. Or an early exit and demoralizing loss to a supposedly inferior team. March Madness gets our hopes up. It might be that you follow a team that has a chance. It might be you have a bracket that you follow. Or it might be that you just enjoy the drama of a one and done sporting event. Regardless, it is here. My bracket is filled out. My team is a 3 seed. And I know places that have Direct TV and every single game.

The presents of a win, of an upset, or of a Bryce Drew game winner with no time left on the clock await. Put me in front of the TV and look out.
