Asheville, NC

12:52 AM

I just got back from seeing a band, My Morning Jacket, at The Orange Peel, a famous local place where all of the bands come in Asheville. Since I’d been in Charlotte living, I knew of the Peel and wanted to check it out. I wasn’t that familiar with the band, but they rocked it and mixed in some mellow stuff. The Peel was cool, a big open warehouse type thing with a bar on the left and the stage in the middle. I love the mix of Asheville. There were all types of people in there in terms of age to look.

It was another busy day that started with a 7 AM wake up call and photo shoot at 8:30. We went back to the Biltmore and took some shots of me and the house. More smiling. We then had some lunch and drove up the Blue Ridge Parkway for some nature shots. I was bummed as mother nature was shy, she rained on us. My new photographer friends had to catch a flight back to Iowa, so I headed to the next event.

My GPS is now installed! I should be hearing from the company tomorrow on how we’ll integrate it into the website. After it was installed I called them to see if it was working. They asked, “Are you at 1596 Patton Ave. in Asheville?” I looked up, 1596 stared at me. Scary.

I then went onto an interview I had set up last week with a girl who makes custom made dresses for people. I don’t know anything about dresses. It turned out to be a very enlightening experience at Ship to Shore. She makes each dress by hand and specific for each person’s body. She has gone through a lot to finally open her own store. I see success for her.

From there it was close to 4PM and I came back to the hotel, checked email, made some calls, took a nap, got up and hit the gym, took a shower and met King and Stacey. We went to dinner at Tupelo Honey (what a great name) in downtown. I had Cajun pot roast with sweet mashed potatoes and a PBR. Good stuff and then off to the Peel.

It is now time for bed. My eyes are bloodshot and I can’t wait for a potential full 8 hours of sleep. Off to Atlanta tomorrow…
