Charlotte, NC

7:05 PM

Last night turned out to be a bit crazier than planned. After lunch with Mike and Jake I made my way down to south Charlotte. Mike (different Mike, old roommate) and Veronica let me come into their house before they came home from work. I had just laid down to try and recharge when Mike called for a ride form work. He had a car issue. No nap for me. Into the traffic I went, but it was no big deal.

Mike, Ryan, and I made our way downtown for the night. Mike and I used to live right in the middle of Charlotte. We had a few places we frequented and we started back at Stool Pigeon’s. There was football on and a steady flow of people in and out of there. It was different to be going back in there. A few of the waitresses were the same, but it was strange driving 30 minutes rather than walking 5 blocks.

I don’t need to fill you on a Friday night downtown, but it was fun and I didn’t feel as good as I should today. I met my friend Courtney and her friends while they were out. She was in Vegas for the wedding. I don’t feel so good so I’m not too detailed in my writing right now.

I woke up way earlier than I wanted to today, but Ryan and I had golf with some of my buds, Rob and Chris. I realize these are a lot of names and not much explanation, but I’m seeing a lot of people in a short time. It was a beautiful day on the course, with clear sunshine and 70 degrees. My golf left something to be desired, but the company was excellent. There were a ton of laughs out there. Ryan and I rode together and I think we were both delirious from the night before because the littlest things would double us over in laughter.

The golf ended and we could not hang with Rob and Chris for after golf football. We had to rush back for Mike and Veronica’s baby shower. There were more to people to see there. Roxy is someone who I’ve played phone tag with for the last few months, so it was great to see her. I can’t mention everyone I saw, but it was great.

Being back in the Carolina’s and especially Charlotte is making me feel like this could be the place for me. I still have a lot to see and do, but my friends and family ties run deep here. The future is cloudy, but it will be weird without Charlotte. At the same time my family in Rochester pulls me there. That decision will have to come later.

Now I get ready to head to Matt and Brandie’s for a while (see group pic). There will be a few of us there. I’m way tired, so it won’t be too crazy. Outta here.
