It’s time to head back to the looming winter of the northeast. Phoenix has been wonderful. 80 degrees and sunny skies in November are hard to beat. Being in a place I used to live and with my friends is even better.

After Sedona on Saturday, we loaded up the truck and headed to the Arizona Cardinals new stadium in Glendale. The sight of the Monday Night debacle stared at us as we eased into parking area 3 and set up the tailgate. Anthony had a 10 X 10 tent that covered us from the sun, as well as the TV that was plugged into the truck, and a mobile George Foreman grill. We also had a stocked cooler and bloody mary mix. Arriving at 11 AM, we had 3 hours of fun until my Cowboys took the field. Drinks, hot dogs, and throwing the football, we were inside. Liquids caused my wits were not as sharp as they could’ve been, but I loved watching a 27 – 10 victory. Romo went over 300 yards, T.O. did his thing, and the D had some picks. I’m not sure about the people around us, but we had a good time.

From there, it was home for a pot roast feast and apple pie for dessert. I did a lot of sleeping from that point on.

Yesterday was a headache followed by a lazy two nap performance. In between naps we went back towards the Glendale area for lunch and some baby shopping. A Greek Gyro hit the spot for lunch. The large chocolate shake was unnecessary, but tasty. It knocked me out. Yet, it didn’t stop us from going to Costco for the ingredients of chicken kabobs. Needless to say, we ate a lot on my visit. We even joked about weighing me when I arrived and when I left. I have gained a few and will hit the gym once I get back to Roch.

Today was my talk at the Rotary. The group was laid back and enjoyed ribbing each other. It was a lunch meeting and I spoke at the end. I didn’t give my best performance because I was worried about running over time, but I think the message still got out there. People came up to me afterwards and were talking about some of the points as they left. It was a good group to talk to because of the age variation and types of businesses represented. Each experience is a good one.

Now it is late, I’ve crammed my suitcases full once again. My stomach has receded slightly since my Mama’s Trio from Macaroni Grill and our decision to finish the apple pie off. Bed time then an early wake up call to catch my direct to Buffalo. Can’t beat a direct flight. 5 hours and I’m back in the NY.
